Yonin Sanmoku or Shifting Alliances
(Four Player Tic-Tac-Toe)
A simple game about shifting alliances played between 4 players who need to collaborate to stop each other from winning whilst going for the win themselves.

At first, it’s like playing tic-tac-toe on a larger board with 2 extra players, but the game is a lot more complicated than that.
All players have now take 2 turns.
Player 1 has a clear advantage because going first means that they are the first to reach a point where they can connect 3 in a row.
Because Player 4 did not block Player 1, the latter wins.
If Player 4 blocks Player 1, Player 2 wins.
After the first game, it is Player 2’s turn to start and have that early advantage. The other players must now ally themselves to stop Player 2 from winning early whilst attempting to win themselves.
