Everything’s shut. Nothing’s opened. Another day goes by as I take the route along the canal, occasionally going off the path to take a look at some of the pubs that have shut up shop. Where once we had a bustling high street, we now have eerie, Hopperesque scenes of life without life, establishments without patrons, and empty chairs at empty tables.

Regent's Canal Part I
Sometimes it takes some time inside to really appreciate nature again. Regent’s Canal is one of those places I have been lucky enough to live near. It really is an underrated part of the London; an area with beautiful boathouses each with their own unique character set against a canal that at night is filled with rippling reflections of the sunset. I loved walking past it during the time before the quarantine and I love it even more now.
The gift of time in Quarantine
Now that London is on complete lockdown, everyone is spending a lot more time inside. Everyone has a lot more time. Books will be read, content consumed and what will I be doing? I’m trying to take this period of unemployment with no end in sight, as a gift of time. I’m using it to do what I never did. I’m building a profile, I’m creating content, I’m pursuing small acts of creativity that I always promised I would. I have been gifted this time, and I hope to fill all the broken promises I made to myself. New Year’s resolutions don’t normally get done for me, for one reason or another. I always try to do what I can to live a normal life full of ‘going out’ and ‘socialising’ but now, we’re all in the same place. I tried a lot, but I never achieved anything. This is a good time to change that.
In the age of Covid 19
It’s a strange time. It’s an unprecedented time. The Coronavirus crisis that is gripping the whole planet means that I have a lot more free time now, so I thought that I’d make this site live and fill it with the few photos I was able to take along the canal a short distance from my flat. The neighbourhood is relatively quiet, it always is. At this time, that is a good thing.
